Rye bread pie is one of the simplest breads that I have ever made. It has an irresistible aroma that wafts across my house. Every time I prepare this bread it makes my family want to have more of this. I'm so lucky to have a bread machine that makes it easy for me to prepare rye bread pie. It's mainly because of this machine that I can easily experiment and try out new kinds of breads every day such as Amish white bread, bagel bread and simple wheat bread.

With this machine, I used the below ingredients and procedure to bake Amish white bread:

Ingredients

6 cups of bread flour

¼ cup of vegetable oil

1 and ½ teaspoons of salt

1 and 1/2 tablespoons of yeast

2/3 cup of sugar

2 cups of warm water

Procedure

After I had ensured that every ingredient and tool was available, I dissolved sugar in water. I later took the sugar solution and stirred and mixed it with active yeast. I added this mixture to the machine but in the order specified by the manufacturer. I noted that the number 1 I was using was already the standard to set for white bread setting.

It was also easy to use this rye bread pie machine to make a simple whole wheat bread. I used to think that white bread is not healthy at all and I was also informed that it isn't unhealthy because it also has some vital nutrients if I made it all by myself. I also came to learn that whole white breads sold in shops are not that healthy hence my only option was to use the machine to make this type of bread.

The basic trick that I followed when preparing this bread was pressing and kneading it twice. I followed all the instructions of the machine and mixed all the ingredients in the specified order. After I had placed all the ingredients in the machine for the first time, I simply adjusted the machine after the knead cycle and started the cycle again.

Using the machine, it was also easy for me to bake bagel bread which I realized had a meaty texture. It was also consequently filling and chewy.

Heat a wok or a large skillet on medium high heat on your American stove. Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil and wait till it starts to smoke.

This allows the beef to absorb the sauce and add to its flavor.

Meantime, blanch the broccoli florets in a large pot of boiling salted water for two minutes. This softens the broccoli. Then drain the water and rinse the broccoli in cold water. Drain the water well. Set aside.

To begin stir frying, heat a wok or a large skillet over your American stove on high heat. Add vegetable oil and wait till it starts to smoke. Drain the beef from the marinade and reserve the marinade for frying. Add cornstarch to the marinade and stir till smooth leaving no clumps behind. Set aside.

Add the meat or beef to the wok and stir fry until almost cooked through for about two minutes. The color would be brown.

Then add the broccoli florets to the wok and stir fry till crisp tender, for another two minutes more.

Then add the reserved marinade mixture to the wok and boil until the sauce thickens and coats with the meat and broccoli, stirring constantly, for about two minutes.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve immediately while hot with the steam cooked rice.

Then add the beef or meat to the sauce and toss them over to coat the sauce. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour up to four hours to marinate. This allows the beef to absorb the sauce and add to its flavor.

Meantime, blanch the broccoli florets in a large pot of boiling salted water for two minutes. This softens the broccoli. Then drain the water and rinse the broccoli in cold water. Drain the water well. Set aside.

To begin stir frying, heat a wok or a large skillet over your American stove on high heat. Add vegetable oil and wait till it starts to smoke. Drain the beef from the marinade and reserve the marinade for frying. Add cornstarch to the marinade and stir till smooth leaving no clumps behind. Set aside.

Add the meat or beef to the wok and stir fry until almost cooked through for about two minutes. The color would be brown.

Then add the broccoli florets to the wok and stir fry till crisp tender, for another two minutes more.

Then add the reserved marinade mixture to the wok and boil until the sauce thickens and coats with the meat and broccoli, stirring constantly, for about two minutes.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve immediately while hot with the steam cooked rice.

How Easy Healthy Recipes for Dinner Revived my Love for Cooking?

As I grew older I learned how to experiment with dishes that I loved. We had this Sunday barbecue tradition in the family wherein I would showcase the best marinade for chicken that I mixed or my easy pork marinade variant for the week. I learned how to prepare fresh garden salads using my mom's secret raspberry vinaigrette dressing recipe. In support of my culinary inclination, my parents gifted me with an herb garden that I diligently cultivated throughout high school. It provided me a ready stash of fresh basil, rosemary, thyme and oregano whenever I needed it for the dishes I cooked.

But things changed when I went to college. I lived on-campus and became too busy with academic responsibilities that I started neglecting my love for cooking. There simply wasn't any time to experiment in the kitchen if you have a gazillion of term papers to write. I lived off fast food and would sometimes skip meals if I was pressed for time. I wasn't eating right. I became unhealthy and had to be hospitalized several times because of it.

When I landed my first job, I resolved to start eating healthy again. Aside from daily exercise, I began preparing my own food using recipes I've researched on the internet. Food magazine subscriptions also came in handy. What I gathered were easy to prepare, low-fat, low-calorie dishes that are perfect for people with a busy lifestyle. It felt good to be cooking again. I've always felt really comfortable working in the kitchen that I once thought of taking some culinary courses if I had some time. Anyways, allow me to share one recipe I've found online that is now a weekly staple on my menu for the week.

Grilled Curried Shrimp with Mango Couscous

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat couscous1 mango, peeled and diced1 teaspoon finely diced jalapeno pepper1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice1/4 cup chopped cilantroSaltFreshly ground black pepper2 tablespoons red curry paste2 teaspoons vegetable oil1 tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon finely minced garlic3/4 pound shrimp, cleaned and shelled, tails on1 7-ounce container 2 percent Greek yogurt1 teaspoon grated gingerLime wedges (optional)

Directions

Cook couscous according to package directions. Combine with mango, jalapeno pepper, 1 teaspoon of the lime juice, and half the cilantro. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.In a large bowl, whisk together red curry paste, vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon of the garlic, and remaining lime juice. Add shrimp; toss to coat.Mix together yogurt, ginger, and remaining cilantro and garlic in a small bowl. Season to taste with black pepper.Heat a grill to medium high. Grill shrimp until just cooked through, about 2 minutes per side.Arrange shrimp and couscous on a platter and serve with the yogurt sauce. Garnish with lime wedges if desired.

Kikkoman soy Dry sherry Cornstarch Sugar Huy Fong Chile-garlic Kadoya Toasted sesame oil Chicken or vegetable stock (this is optional, but often useful for vegetables)

The Thai and Vietnamese stir fries however frequently contains fish and sometimes mixed with soy flavor, but is usually fish flavor alone. The Thai stir fry with basil for example is only flavored with nothing more than soy flavor and fish added with water and sugar, plus the basil.

Lumpfish Roe - The Ultimate Food For Food Lovers

Lumpfish roe could be prepared in many different ways. Here are some of them:

Chicken skin & rye bread, smoked cheese and lumpfish roe

Ingredients required

Chicken skins 8Rye breadRye bread loaf 1 loafButter as per the needLumpfish roeLumpfish roe 100gSmoked cheese 30gFull fat milk 10gCream 10gPicked dill 5gSalt 1g

Main instructions

Chicken skin

First, preheat the oven to 160 degrees C. Get rid of the fat inside the chicken skins. Place them on a parchment paper or baking paper that is spread on the baking tray. Position the chicken skins in such a way that they form a double layer. Keep the tray inside the oven and bake it for 2 hours. Do not forget to place oven proof weights on top before you start baking it. Take the skins out of the oven and let them cool. Then slice the skins into 3x10 cm pieces.

Rye bread

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees C. Cut the loaf into slices in lengthwise proportions. Then, cut these slices into 4x10 cm pieces. Arrange the baking paper on the baking tray. Rub the top with butter and wrap it properly with another baking sheet. Position another tray on the top. Like in the preparation of the chicken skins, place oven proof weights on the top and then keep it inside the oven. Bake it for 18 minutes. Trim properly the bread pieces.

Lumpfish roe

The first step is to rinse the roe properly so that you can get rid of the sinews. Do not forget to whisk it as well. Drain the excess liquid. Take the cheese and mix it with the ingredients like milk and cream and carefully fold it into the roe. Cut the dills into small pieces and introduce them into the mixture. Add 1 g of salt so as to give a proper taste to the dish.

Serving

Pour out 3g of roe mixture over the crisp rye bread. Position a baked chicken skin on the top. Then, serve it with the rye bread facing up.

Instructions to follow

First, mix well the ingredients like eggs and mayonnaise. Keep a pie plate or baking plate ready and slightly rub it with butter. Then, introduce onion and roe into the plate. The next step is to pour the sour cream in the middle of the mixture. Make sure that the cream spreads outwards as well so as to cover the roe. Then spread evenly the chopped parsley over the cream covering. It would be ideal if you serve it with crackers or toasted bread.
